Lower Costs, Reduce Backup
Windows, Leap-Frog the Competition
Oracle's StorageTek T10000C tape drive
lets you
boost storage capacity and performance without increasing your footprint. It
delivers the industry's highest capacity, 5 TB native, making it ideal for 24x7
datacenter operations with growing volumes of data. The StorageTek T10000C tape
drive also delivers exceptional performance with up to 240MB/s of native
performance.

FujiFilm, which is manufacturing the T10000C
cartridges for Oracle, said the tape cartridge is the first from the company to
use nanoscale Barium-Ferrite (BaFe) particles to coat the tape. Fujifilm claims
that BaFe particles don't corrode or change chemically over time so that they
add to the longevity of the product.
The company also coats both sides of its
thinner tape to achieve the higher capacity drives. Typically, tape drives are
coated with iron-oxide (Fe) particles, but not barium.
