If capacity is your most important issue, you can scale the StorageTek SL500 using Drive Expansion Modules (DEM) or Cartridge Expansion Modules (CEM), which give you the flexibility to scale using only cartridges.

In addition, Any Cartridge Any Slot technology lets you use the drive types that best meet your needs, including StorageTek LTO, SDLT, and DLT-S4 tape drives.
