Sony AIT-1 tape drives deliver up to 91 GB capacity (with 2.6:1 compression) in a compact, 8mm data cartridge. The AITi90/S (SDX-400C) series tape drives offer up to 33% higher performance to the ultra-reliable and innovative AIT-1 product line.

Using an Ultra Wide SCSI interface, the AITi90/S series delivers data at sustained transfer rates up to 10.4 MB/s (with 2.6:1 compression)

High reliability
Sony AIT tape drives incorporate a redesigned head geometry, reducing head/tape pressure and delivering up to 50,000 hours of head life and an industry leading MTBF rating of 300,000 POH (100% duty cycle).

Compact form factor
AIT drives offer high capacity in an extremely compact 3.5-inch form factor. With a compact size a fraction of the size of other high capacity tape drive formats, AIT drives are easy to integrate into desktop workstations, servers, and automated tape libraries.

Reduced periodic maintenance
Sony AIT drives incorporate an Super Head Cleaner™ mechanism activated automatically by the drive mechanism when tape errors approach a certain threshold.
