DMSB80L
Tape Robotic Libraries

For corporations migrating to larger
storage needs, Sony's DMSB-80L automated tape library is ideal for scalable
storage applications that require a compact design. The system is expandable to
a maximum 41.95 Terabytes (compressed) and 16.2 Terabytes (native).
Versatile Library Controller::
The PetaSite controller provides a robust user interface
with the DMS series of libraries. Sony or third party tape management software
may connect to the PSC controller via Ethernet (TCP/IP) API, SCSI-2 fast/wide or
Fibre Channel options for easy connectivity.
High-Speed Robotics/File Access::
Combining Sony's DTF®-2 tape drives mid-point loading
capability and Sony's Tele-File™ technology, the average file access time is
less than a minute for large tapes and under 30 seconds for small tapes.
Support for multiple hosts and applications::
Partitioning or allocating tape bins and drives to
specific tasks allows for multiple hosts and applications.
