Exabyte 430M accommodates up to four M2 tape drives and 30 data cartridges and
offers the ability to conduct unattended operations for over 10 hours.
The 430M library occupies just five rack units and two cubic feet, utilizing
very little space and maximizing the use of valuable data center space. Designed
to provide a scalable solution and protect the user's investment, the library
allows users to start with as few as one drive and ten cartridges and easily add
drives and cartridges as their data storage needs grow. Exabyte's award-winning
M2 drives are field-replaceable, allowing for ease of service and the ability to
upgrade to future-generation drives, further protecting the user's investment.
The modular design of the 430M also allows for integration of other tape
technologies, including LTO™ (Ultrium™) and SDLT™.
The 430M with native Fibre Channel offers enhanced performance and reliability
features. This native Fibre Channel library is also the only midrange library in
the world to offer serverless backup capability. M2 drives inside the library
communicate directly with RAID devices, bypassing the server and eliminating
large backup windows. Users get continuous 24/7 backup and restore operations at
