DPM5500
| Quantum’s provides the easiest
implementation of disk-based backup for Windows Environments. With our
high
performance disk-based backup system coupled with Microsoft System Center
Data Protection Manager 2006, Quantum now provides customer a cost-effective
tiered storage architecture solution.
The Quantum DPM5500 addresses the most significant backup challenges facing
IT professionals: meeting short backup windows, having confidence that
backups are complete, and having the ability to quickly restore data when
needed.

Integrated features such as Opyton™ hardware-based compression technology

disaster recovery best practices and enable customers to frame their tiered
storage environments. Together, Quantum’s value-added features and Microsoft
Data Protection Manager 2006 deliver backup and restore benefits that no

The DPM5500 builds upon the Microsoft Data
Protection Manager 2006 value proposition through a sophisticated, yet
easy-to-implement 5U (rack-unit) appliance with a choice of 6 or 12
terabyte capacity and RAID 5 protection. The appliance can be easily
integrated into the network via dual Gigabit Ethernet ports and TOE (TCP/IP
offload engine) capabilities. Enterprise-class features such as redundant
and hot-swappable fans, hot-swap disk drives and redundant power offer high
availability. By offering these features within an appliance, Quantum
alleviates the guesswork and time involved by customers in building a system
from disparate pieces.

Through Quantum StorageCare™ Service, a one-year next business day standard
warranty is included in the purchase of each DPM5500 product. The warranty
can be extended for long-term security and peace of time at an affordable
price. Additional 5x9x4 and 7x24x4 service contract upgrade response levels
are also available.
 The
DPM5500 is supported by StorageCare Guardian, Quantum's new proactive remote
monitoring solution. Leveraging the intelligence inside the DPM5500,
Guardian enables Quantum to proactively monitor the health of Quantum
systems over the Internet and use intelligent diagnostics data to remotely
service the equipment when something is wrong. Designed to deliver highly
reliable backups and rapid resolution time, Guardian is offered at no extra
cost for products under warranty or service contract. Guardian is easy to
install and can be downloaded online.
