IBM TotalStorage DS4800

 The IBM TotalStorage DS4800 is the very latest and most powerful in the highly successful IBM TotalStorage DS4000 Series. Designed as an integral component in IBM’s storage solution portfolio, the DS4800 is a key component of IBM business continuity solutions portfolio delivering business resilience and continuity of operations. Also designed to accommodate the changing value of data over time while maintaining data availability, DS4800 can play a leading role in a hierarchical storage life cycle management strategy. The DS4800, when ordered in combination with IBM's virtualization products ( San File System or San Volume Controller), makes an outstanding solution to help simplify your I/T infrastructure.

The DS4800 takes advantage of 4 gigabit per second Fibre Channel interface technology can support up to 224 disk drives in IBM TotalStorage EXP710 or EXP100 disk units making it a great choice for performance-oriented or capacity-oriented storage requirements. Available in three models, the 82A with 4GB of cache, the 84A with 8GB of cache, and the 88A with 16GB of cache.

Additionally, support for high-performance Fibre Channel and high-capacity serial ATA (SATA) disk drives helps enable a single DS4800 storage system to satisfy primary and secondary storage.
