Sivy (SA-4830/SA-4831)

The Arena SA-4830/SA-4831 sets new standards for mission critical low cost RAID solutions. The Arena SA-4830/4831 features 8 hot swappable Serial-ATA drive sleds, hot swappable power supplies, and a new redesigned chassis for maximum airflow. All implemented in a 2U platform RAID. Arena's new Serial-ATA interface is a high performance device for today's IDE storage solutions. The smaller cables, connectors, and improved silicon design alleviate many shortcomings or today's ATA specifications.

Support for slice over 2 terabytes available with latest firmware.

Optional Battery Backup Unit available.

As all Arena RAID solutions, the Sivy SA-4830/SA-4831 is designed to simplify complicated and time consuming operations. Compared to the conventional disk array, which is designed for experienced IT professionals, Arena comes with the innovative Plug-N-Play RAID. Just attach to your host server and Arena is up and running after following the step-by-step built-in setup program and a user interfaced button on the front panel.

The high availability hardware and firmware architecture automatically detects bad sectors and failed disk drives. When installing a replacement disk or using a hot spare disk, the system automatically rebuilds data without keyed in commands or functions.

An LCD panel Display a comprehensive operating status. Upon failure (HDD) the built in buzzer sounds and LCD panel indicated the failure status simultaneously. With the system on, remove and install hot swap components without interrupting data access.

The Arena series RAID is completely operating system independent and transparent with Windows based OS, Linux, Novell, UNIX, or Mac based servers.

The Arena Sivy SA-4830/SA-4831 series comes with an embedded RJ-45 port to use with our easy-to-use, web based GUI RAID management software (Global-Net).

This software allows users to setup RAID configuration, status monitoring and detection of hardware failure via RJ-45 ethernet connection. Global-Net alerts failure through e-mail and monitors RAID status from the world wide web by using any standard web browser.

RAID Management

Configure and Re-configures RAID. Assigns spare drive. Host ID settings.

 

Status Monitoring

Auto detects multiple RAID devices connected to LAN. Displays the array configuration, drive model and capacity. Monitors physical drives, temperature, fan and power supply status. Displays drive status (on-line, spare) and indicates failed drive location.

 

Event Display and Notification

Real-time display and record of all events. Alarm notification though e-mail.

 

Remote Monitoring

Web-based remote monitoring allows administrators to oversee RAID status globally in mission critical environments.
