IpSAN

By most accounts, IpSAN is simpler to deploy than FC-SAN. IpSAN is ideal for most requirements because its performance rivals SAN storage while still retaining the manageability and recovery features unique to IpSAN. While the basic components between IpSAN and FC-SAN are similar, with IpSAN the app makes the file I/O to a file system outside the server and the block I/O happens between the volume manager and the RAID – within the storage manager.
