G-Series Libraries for IBM OS/400 Plasmon's proven, market leading G-Series
5.25 inch optical libraries are available with native IBM OS/400 support.
The G-Series for IBM OS/400 libraries offer secure, long-term archival
storage and are the most scalable, feature-rich optical solutions ever
available to OS/400 customers. 30GB UDO provides almost 6x the capacity of
the 5.2GB optical technology used in the IBM 3995. The libraries include
state-of-the-art features including dual pickers, redundant power supplies,
bar code scanners, hot swappable drives and simultaneous use of 9.1GB MO and
30GB UDO drives in the same library. They are available in a broad series of
configurations, with models ranging from 24 to 638 slots, and corresponding
fully populated capacities from 218GB to over 19TB.
Ultra Density Optical
All G-Series Libraries for IBM OS/400 support UDO™ (Ultra Density Optical)
technology with PTFs installed with v5r3. The new standard in professional
optical storage, blue laser-based UDO provides dramatically greater capacity
and exceptionally low Total Cost of Ownership. It also delivers true Write
Once data integrity, using Phase Change technology that permanently alters
the media recording surface. 30GB UDO cartridges are available with both
true Write Once and Rewritable media, with future versions delivering larger
capacities up to 120GB.
