The Adaptec Snap Server 700i series of dedicated iSCSI storage appliances is an excellent choice for enterprises wishing to reap the performance benefits of a SAN, without the cost and complexity associated with Fibre Channel. The Snap Server 700i series provides you with cost-effective, high performance, highly reliable RAID storage that can be flexibly allocated via an IP SAN to application servers such as Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server, and Oracle while they are up and running.

The Snap Server 700i series sets new benchmarks for performance, price/performance, and scalability, and easily scales to deliver from 1 to 36TBs of capacity using any combination of SAS and SATA drives.

The Snap Server 650 and 520 storage systems, which are primarily used to serve files via the CIFS, NFS, or AFP protocols, also support the iSCSI protocol. Because they support both NAS and IP SAN, they represent a flexible way to provide storage to users, for backup to disk, and for application servers which do not require the high performance or advanced features of the Snap Server 700i series, such as synchronous mirroring with failover, or VSS snapshots. The Snap Server 520 and 650 storage systems can also be configured with a mix of SAS and SATA drives in the SANbloc S50 expansion chassis
