DiamondMax 8S is a 40GB 7200RPM drive that brings Serial ATA performance to entry desktop systems. Serial ATA enables data transfer rates up to 150MB/sec while native command queuing intelligently reorders commands to enhance system efficiency and performance. Low height improves airflow and cooling in systems and low weight reduces shipping costs. DiamondMax 8S drives deliver high reliability and data integrity using the Maxtor-developed Shock Protection System and Data Protection System. Combining performance and value, these drives procide and ideal solution for entry systems transitioning to Serial ATA.
